“ I have discovered the greatness that is Nu-Way Weiners. There is no pretense here. These folks are interested in doing one thing: serving up some delicious weiners. The weiners are private-label: spicy red, made with pork and beef, and they are delicious. Top this with some cheese and chili (secret recipe), and you have a crowd pleaser. Add some slaw, and you have a work of art that only the discriminating connoisseur of weiners can understand. That chili is very similar to a Cincinnati chili. It's got a sweet hint alongside the savory goodness. I would readily put the Nu-Way chili-dog up against Atlanta's beloved purveyor of chili-dogs. I volunteer to do a side-by-side taste test between the two. The people who work here know that they're standing on top of the baddest weiner operation in our great nation. But they don't let that go to their heads. They're proud to serve you--to make sure you're happy with your weiners and the beverage of your choice. That beverage, by the way, is served on flaked ice. And a large coke is large enough for you to climb in and do a backstroke. The interior is simple. No frills. The focus is on inexpensive, quality, delicious food. Gather here and enjoy. The patrons on my visit were very friendly--almost conversational while I waited for my weiners. I made myself hungry again writing this review. “ Nu-way isn't somewhere I frequent because it is more costly than other businesses however it was a treat from my sissy pooh. Good breakfast this morning from the Emery Hwy location. The country ham sandwich and tots were prepared fresh. Although the country ham was a tad bit salty, it still was really good. Friendly customer service as well. Much appreciated. ”

With chili hotdog sauce like they sell in a can at Fresh Market for $6 ( but better- cause it has a tetch of cinnamon) A burger to beat out the competition that's why they call it the MEGAburger- if you are starving- and not diabetic yet- consider the Mega superSize. Great service. Ice tea in tub sized cubs with shaved chewy crunchy ice. If red hotdogs "skair" you- go for the beefy version - a purist will ask for squeeze bottle of mustard- don't forget Fries. We were there this week and I saw an 80 jump out of a moving car so she could beat us to front of line. After eating there / I don't blame her. This is history folks. Put it in your list. . ”

“ Hotdogs are one of those foods that everyone knows is really bad for you, but somehow, we all collectively don't really seem to care. I know, I know... Your college roommate swore off hotdogs, can't even use the word nitrate in a sentence without gagging, and anybody even marginally older than a millennial remembers the famous line from the movie The Great Outdoors that dealt with the ingredients of your average hotdog. But this place was actually really awesome, and for a quick stop sometime between breakfast and late lunch, everybody found something on the menu that they could stomach. In truth, we sort of just wildly ordered off the menu: chili dogs, slaw dogs, cheese, and a bunch of fries. Fountain drinks kept the salty at bay, and the order came up pretty quickly. in our native Southern California, Wienerschnitzel has been a mainstay for decades, and the now defunct Pup & Taco was our go to for hotdogs in the 80s. Truth be told, I have no idea if this is a chain or what, but we all had a giggle as a family having hotdogs as a vacation meal, laughing for a good 10 miles that despite everyone enjoying it, we vowed never to speak of it again... I guess I broke that promise with this yelp review, but it's for a good cause, and a good community. Sad thing is I have not found a decent Slaw-Dog in Southern California. Yet. And hey, there's always next summer and the road trip we will enjoy again. ”

“ I remember hearing about this place on food network years ago, and then I finally took my nephew there a while back (before he turned to a vegetarian). I remember him and myself enjoying it thoroughly. I love the fact that it is local, it is cheap, has multiple locations, and it has been around for quite some time. They open early and have breakfast as well. The biggest thing they are probably known for, are their red hot dogs. The last time I was around, I was driving to Savannah early in the morning and figured if its open, let me get some hotdogs. So, I ordered 4 of them, then went on my way. It was a cheap, easy, snack to get the road trip started, and hell, mom even enjoyed her hot dog too. They do offer drive through and a no frills dine in- but hey, it has so far withstood the test of time, and I can appreciate the prices as well. If you are in town and are looking for something local and something different, I highly recommend! ”

“ Nu-Way is an institution in the Macon, Georgia area, celebrating 100 years and I myself have been frequenting this Macon icon for over sixteen years. When I am in or around Macon, I find myself often stopping at one of their locations for a hot dog or burger (usually both). This is a far better option than the usual national fast food chains that offer subpar burgers. If you are a fan hot dogs and burgers, give them a try. With a hundred year history, they are obviously doing something right. ”
